Sringeri Seer

Kottapatnam

Kottapatnam (Near Ongole) is the only beach I have seen which is to the north of Chennai. I went there with Hari and Satish. Since I was taken this snap, I am not visible.

Don’t confuse with the face of Bhojaraj. This is not the ‘Bhoja’ who is very popular in Karnataka through Mukta-Mukta.

I have played football during 8th to 10th standard. I was the captain of my team for 3 consecutive years.

Our class has been divided on 4 teams.
My team included Venkatesh, Naveen, Pramod, Sachin, Mohamed Rafi, TG Mohan, Arokya Blomin Raj and Others.
My rival team was headed by Tarakesh. The team members were Girish BR, Suresh TV, Mazmul, Tazamul, Manjunath and others.

In 3 years, my team has lost only once to Tarakesh team.

Rajiv Gandhi

Today is the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. Whatever may be the critics say on Rajiv Gandhi, he was a mass leader in late 80s. He was assassinated on 21st May 1991 just a week before my cousin sister Indira got married. I was in Chikkamagaluru on that day. On 22nd early morning, I read the news of Rajiv’s death in a news paper. It was a shock for me!

After 18 years, the main accused in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, Velupillai Prabhakaran was killed along with his full pledged army by the Srilankan security forces. But still the Indian government had no courage to implement a death sentence given by the Supreme Court to those who were involved in the assassination plot. When very small and voiceless countries can rise above their capability to protect their sovereignty, The Indian government has always coaxed with the destabilizing elements.

Long back, when Indira Gandhi was killed I was kid of just 4 years. I did not know who that lady was. I was in Ajjampura in 1984. I still remember a huge gathering in a house which had a TV.

Since the Congress government will be in power for one more term, all the new projects will be named Rajiv, Nehru or Indira Gandhi.

By 2014, there would be no place or no project in India to be named after any other person!

Manjula…Where are you?

Few years back, an astrologer has told my mother that I will marry a girl named Manjula. Surprisingly, from that day I have not met even a single lady by that name!

I have crossed the same road today successfully.

Last week I had a cramp in my left ankle while crossing the road near Nagarjuna Circle, Panjagutta.

To celebrate that, I went to Shanbhag and ate delicious Masala Dose.

Manohar is marrying

My school mate Manohar is marrying on 22nd May at Chitradurga.

I met Bhaskar last night at KPHB.

I started from my office at 1900. Heavy downpour started and we are about to cancel our meeting. But the raining was only in the city; not in the KPHB area. I reached KPHB by 2000. We had dinner at Ramayya Mess near Kalamandir. We roamed for some time and sat in some cool places and chatted till 2200. I reached home and watched Mukta-Mukta and IPL. Finally, a good new came from Bangalore Royal challengers who are now have better chance of making into the Semi final.

His marriage is on June 10th. Interestingly, his birthday is in the same month; that is on June 29th.

Udupi- Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency

Earlier Udupi Lok Sabha constituency comprised Byndooru, Kundapura, Brahmavara, Udupi, Kapu (in Udupi district), Bantwala, Suratkal and Mulky-Moodabidri (in Dakshina Kannada district) assembly segments and Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency comprised Sringeri, Moodigere, Kaduru, Chikkamagaluru, Biruru and Tarikere(in Chikkamagaluru district) and Belthangadi (in Dakshina Kannada district) and Karkala(in Udupi district) assembly segments.

After delimitation, Legislative assembly constituency of Birur has been merged with Tarikere and Kaduru segments and Kaduru assembly segment has now been included in Haasana Lok Sabha constituency.
The Legislative assembly constituency of Brahmavara has been merged with Kundapura, Udupi and Kapu constituencies, while Byndooru assembly segment of Udupi constituency has now been included in Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.
After re-organization, Udupi- Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency was formed with Kapu, Udupi, Karkala and Kundapura assembly constituencies from Udupi district and Sringeri, Moodigere, Chikkamagaluru and Tarikere assembly constituencies from Chikkamagaluru district.

We have done it!!!

Finally we got a house in Pragathinagar, 5 km from JNTU. Deepak will be shifting soon to that house. I made Aloo bonda, Shyavige payasa last night. I was thinking to prepare a “habbada oota” but lack of time forced me to do only these two items. The help of VVs and Subbaraju will always be remembered.

Former Indian Navy chief Admiral S.M. Nanda dead

Former Indian Navy chief Admiral Sardarilal Mathradas Nanda(94), has died at New Delhi on Monday after a prolonged illness.

Sastry fell down…

I fell down just below the fly over near Hyderabad Central in Panjagutta which fell down last year when it was under construction. The road edge was not leveled and I placed my left foot on the edge; unable to balance myself and fell down. The cramp in my left ankle is simply making me thwarted.
