Earlier Udupi Lok Sabha constituency comprised Byndooru, Kundapura, Brahmavara, Udupi, Kapu (in Udupi district), Bantwala, Suratkal and Mulky-Moodabidri (in Dakshina Kannada district) assembly segments and Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency comprised Sringeri, Moodigere, Kaduru, Chikkamagaluru, Biruru and Tarikere(in Chikkamagaluru district) and Belthangadi (in Dakshina Kannada district) and Karkala(in Udupi district) assembly segments.
After delimitation, Legislative assembly constituency of Birur has been merged with Tarikere and Kaduru segments and Kaduru assembly segment has now been included in Haasana Lok Sabha constituency.
The Legislative assembly constituency of Brahmavara has been merged with Kundapura, Udupi and Kapu constituencies, while Byndooru assembly segment of Udupi constituency has now been included in Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.
After re-organization, Udupi- Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency was formed with Kapu, Udupi, Karkala and Kundapura assembly constituencies from Udupi district and Sringeri, Moodigere, Chikkamagaluru and Tarikere assembly constituencies from Chikkamagaluru district.
