APSRTC has raised the bus fares from today.
One surprise is that they have not done this for many years. The biggest surprise is that they have done it now.
City bus transportation in Hyderabad and Chennai is very cheap when compared to that of Bangalore. Though the bus fares are high, Bangalore has more number of city buses when compared to Hyderabad and traveling in the city is not a problem.
Even though Hyderabad has less number of city buses, people can take little breath as they have 7 seats shared autos running in many routes. Since the auto rickshaw drivers in Hyderabad have no 'Meter' culture, it's difficult to commute in Hyderabad for a new comer.
The sudden raise of minimum bus fare from Rs 2 to Rs 5 for (Ordinary buses, equivalent to Black Board in Bangalore) and from Rs 4 to Rs 7 (Metro Express buses, equivalent to Red Board in Bangalore) has received sharp reaction from the public.
Though the bus fares are higher in Bangalore, the Daily Pass is sold at Rs 30. But the same daily pass (Travel as You Like – TAYL Pass) in Hyderabad will now cost Rs 40. And the TAYL passes are not common for at least two to three different types of services. Even the bus pass system in Hyderabad is one of the biggest fun for a Bangalorean.
I do not understand that what the 'EXPERTS' eat? Why they make some such ridiculous changes?
After the RTC, electricity fares will be raised soon.
The only question is that why they kept silent for last many years?
Answer is very simple…. YSR!
